The Chinese tradition of incense is never just about scent. A burner of incense marks the rhythm of the seasons, the grace of hosting, and those quiet moments when you simply sit with yourself.
Songlan Fragrance is a small incense studio. We do three things: teach people how to appreciate scent, help them choose the right gifts, and help spaces find their own fragrance.
Our materials are all-natural — agarwood, sandalwood, angelica root, clove, cinnamon, and thoroughwort. Recipes follow tradition, but we never dress things up in mystique. We hope everyone who walks through our door leaves knowing how to use incense with ease, clarity, and comfort.

Introduction to Incense

Meet six foundational incense materials. Learn to smell, to distinguish, to describe a fragrance's character. Craft your own incense pellet to take home.
Advanced Incense Art
2.5 hr · ¥468/person · 3–6 people
Prepare a seal incense — from loosening and pressing the ash to filling and lifting the mold. Every step is slow, and every step cannot be rushed.
Themed Incense Gatherings
2 hr · ¥358/person · 4–8 people
Each session has a theme: Rain-Water Incense, White-Dew Offerings, Winter-Solstice Warmth. Recipes and tea pairings shift with the seasons.
Not for: those seeking a certificate (we don't issue them), those looking for rapid-fire social icebreakers (the class is quiet by design), or those with fragrance sensitivities or allergies (please let us know in advance).

Step 1 · Space Diagnosis
On-site visit
We observe light, airflow, foot-traffic rhythm, and spatial character. Then we talk about the mood you want your guests to step into.
Step 2 · Custom Blending
Bespoke formula
Based on the diagnosis, we compose a scent unique to your space from dozens of natural materials. It may be a single blend, or a morning-noon-evening trio.
Step 3 · Delivery & Care
Ongoing service
We recommend the right delivery method — stick incense, loose powder, or electric warmers — and return on a set schedule to replenish and adjust.
Ideal for tea rooms, boutique hotels, members' clubs, independent bookshops, yoga studios, and galleries — any space that wants to express its atmosphere through scent.
Seasonal Sachet Workshops
Live by the seasons. Each solar term, craft a sachet for the moment.
Each session is two hours. We begin with the natural signs of the season and its incense traditions, then guide everyone through blending, grinding, and filling a sachet. Each person leaves with their own sachet and a recipe card.

Small-group teaching Introductory classes capped at 8, advanced at 6. Everyone gets hands-on time.

Cancellation & After-Sales
Class / Workshop Cancellation
- More than 48 hours before the session: full refund
- 24–48 hours before: 50% refund, or one free reschedule
- Within 24 hours: no refund; you may transfer your spot to someone else
- Arriving more than 20 minutes late: we recommend rescheduling; the session fee is non-refundable
Gift After-Sales
- Within 7 days of receipt, unopened and in original packaging: refund or exchange accepted
- Natural materials vary slightly in color and scent between batches — this is normal
- Shipping damage: send us a photo and we'll replace it free of charge
- Custom gift orders cannot be returned or exchanged for non-quality reasons once production is confirmed

- I have zero experience with incense. Can I still join a class?
- Absolutely. Most of our guests are first-timers. We start from the very basics — simply smelling — and no preparation is needed.
- Do I need to bring anything?
- No. All materials, tools, and tea are provided. Just bring yourself.
- Can I bring children?
- Classes are recommended for ages 14+. Seasonal sachet workshops welcome children 10+ — just let us know in advance if you're bringing the family.
- Can I book a private one-on-one session?
- Yes. One-on-one sessions are priced as private bookings. Contact us on WeChat for details.
- Can gifts be shipped?
- Yes — free delivery nationwide (remote areas may require a small surcharge). We ship via SF Express by default. We'll send you a photo of the finished box for approval before dispatch.
- What's the minimum for corporate orders?
- 50 units. For large orders (300+), we recommend reaching out 30–40 days in advance.
- Can space fragrance be diagnosed remotely?
- We recommend an on-site visit for the initial diagnosis. Remote locations can be assessed via video call, though the results won't be as precise. Let's talk on WeChat.
- Can I get an invoice (fapiao)?
- Yes. Just provide your invoicing details when you book.
